List of Towns and Villages in Great Britain and Ireland

Do you need a list of towns and villages in the United Kingdom? As part of the British Visitor development, we have created a database of over 3,000 Cities, Town and Villages in the UK. This list increases regularly as does the information that it contains. So far, we have the following information entered:

• All Cities and Towns listed for England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the Irish Republic. This includes attached Islands.
• Over 2,500 villages, which is being added to regularly

All locations have the following data:

• Name (with location if there are duplicates e.g. "Alton - Hampshire" and "Alton - Staffordshire" are two separate entries)
• First half of postcode. This can be used with Mapping websites to print a map of the location.
• Flag to say if it is a Town/City or a Village
• County Identifier
• If the location is not a Town or City, then the ID of the nearest Town/City. This can be used in at least two ways. Firstly identifying the nearest Town/City for a particular Village and secondly, for a given Town/City, identifying all the local Villages.
• URL link to Wikipedia entry if it exists. If it does not yet exist on Wikipedia, then a link to the page where it should exist should someone create an entry.
